Those who enjoy dining out at swanky restaurants will not be disappointed in Zaragoza, which is home to a large concentration of restaurants, bars and eateries of all descriptions. Many affordable restaurants are also in plentiful supply in Zaragoza and visitors are well catered for, with a range of national and international dishes on offer.

Where to Eat in Zaragoza
One of the best places to head for at lunchtime are Zaragoza's numerous Tapas bars and restaurants, which offer a variety of tasty nibbles. Designed to accompany wine and other drinks, Zaragoza's Tapas bars are typically Spanish and full of character. The main types of Tapas in Zaragoza usually include a selection of stuffed olives, local cheeses, potato chips, mouthfuls of fish-based snacks and seafood snacks.

Many Spanish in Zaragoza restaurants serve a variety of local cuisine and authentic dishes, such as paella, tortillas (omelettes), papas arrugadas con mojo (wrinkled potatoes), soups (sopas), meat and vegetable stews, pork dishes, kebabs (pinchos morunos), and 'recion', which are a more filling version of Tapas.

A cluster of popular restaurants are located in the heart of Zaragoza and throughout the historic district, close to hotels and shopping districts, which often offer dancing and evening entertainment. A number of restaurants can also be found surround the central Plaza Espana, which intersects the Calle Coso. One of Zaragoza's main roads, the Paseo de la Independencia starts from the Plaza Espana and is lined with an array of eateries, dining and entertainment venues, and cafés.

A range of dining options in also available close to the Ciudad Universitaria, with restaurants located around the Calle Tomás Bretón, the Calle Corona de Aragón, the Delicias district, and throughout the Old Town. This is a notable and lively spot in Zaragoza, known for its nightlife, al fresco dining and outdoor cafés. The Calle San Vicente de Paul, which joins Calle Coso, is also known for its vibrant nightlife and restaurants.

Some of Zaragoza's more exclusive restaurants can be found around the Paseo de la Constitución, together with pubs, bars, shops and cinemas. Further restaurants can be found where many of the city's main avenues and roads meet at the Plaza Paraiso, and also along the Gran Via, a major, leafy thoroughfare close to the River Huerva.
